Popular Athlone band Macey South will play the Rednecks and Rhinestones Festival on Sunday 24th July from 4pm-5.30pm
A young energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet. The band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres and captures the fast-paced energy of the band.
Macey South have been performing together for a decade, since their days attending Athlone Community College. Liam also plays harmonica and accordion in the band. His brother Keith provides vocals and rhythm guitar. Conor plays electric guitar, bass drums and adds a creative twist to the band by playing the hi-hat with his feet.
The band have already completed a tour of England, and have supported famous artists such as The Fureys and The High Kings. They have extensive experience playing at various locations throughout Ireland, and performing at weddings and other events.
They are one of a kind and will delight audiences both young and old – an event not to be missed!
